Elegant Marland Mansion & Estate, Ponca City, OK, opened in 1928

The Marland Mansion & Estate that is elegantly furnished & built in 1928 has been on my short list to visit for over a year. It is about a 2hr drive from my home. I finally drove there on Monday afternoon, July 29th, and took almost 200 photos. Even though I've selected the best photos and edited them, there are still a lot to view in the following photo gallery. As you can see below, this is a fabulous mansion where each room is fitted for royalty. Although some people might object to spending so much wealth on a mansion like this, we need to keep in mind that Marland was very good to those who worked for him and many skilled craftsmen earned a good living building and furnishing this mansion that they took pride in. He has a very good record for the many improvements he brought to the community and the state of Oklahoma.

Allow me to share some technical information. My digital camera takes 40Mpixel photos, which were 7728x4344 with the settings used for these photos. After cropping each photo, I resized so that it would fit in a 1920x1080 standard computer screen. When uploaded to this website, the image compression software automatically reduced the size of individual photos by approximately 80% without any visual loss of quality to the human eye. The smaller file size for each photo translates into a much faster display.
